Date a girl who reads
I know you might have read this before, I certainly have. I’ll always take some delight in reading it though.
Falling In Love At A Coffee Shop - Landon Pigg
Isn’t this just lovely?
Don’t You Worry // Lucy Rose

Just gonna soak in Aqualung for a bit.
Wow, hello again, I must get used to updating!
Apologies.
Again.
I’m getting lazy, but don’t worry, I have slapped myself on the hand so you don’t need to (I mean you can, but it’s not a requirement).
Well.
I’ve finished The Great Gatsby now, and I am working on a separate review for it but I must say WOW. It’s up there in my favourites.
I’ve started on Will Grayson, Will Grayson now and so far it’s pretty good. I have to say, I think I prefer John Green’s writing style to David Levithan’s, but that could be down to the fact that I’m just more used to Green (I’m trying to write this like a proper review but as a nerdfighter it feels weird referring to John by his last name only. Sounding clever is HARD), having read Looking For Alaska and An Abundance Of Katherines about 50 times each and enjoying them like the company of old friends each time. That’s also why the rest of his books are on the list.
Also, you may or may not know that I am a big fan of hellogiggles.com. Well. Today I put on my big brave girl pants and submitted a piece to them which I wrote just for fun, to get out some feels I was feeling. Obviously I don’t know if they’ll use it but I’m proud of myself for making that effort because usually I hate letting people read things that I write (I know that may shock you, given what this is, but hey. Big brave girl pants. Also for some reason tumblr just isn’t as scary). So I’m giving myself points for that.
I think that’s all the updates I have! I’ve been applying for jobs all over with no success yet (oh wait that’s a lie, I got the childminding job but my class times clashed with the work hours and unfortunately education comes first!) but I am persevering! I shall have employment soon, I swear.
Been getting shit done all over the place today!
And it’s all scary grown up shit that I’m normally hiding from because I’m frightened of it.
NOT TODAY.
I just paid off the credit card that I accidentally opened and have been hiding from (yeah that’s a crazy story). So now I can be free to answer the phone and not be afraid of debt collectors and not miss calls from people who actually want to give me a job. Yes, that happened. Because I am a pathetic person who is afraid of the phone, I just picked up a message 5 minutes ago that’s been waiting for me for 10 days, offering me an interview at the BALMORAL HOTEL. YES, THE HOTEL WHERE JK ROWLING WROTE DEATHLY HALLOWS. AND I COULD HAVE BEEN WORKING THERE. FUCK.
But it’s ok because I’ve been applying all over the city to loads of jobs and have also been offered an interview to be a childminder (how scary is THAT? Lucky I’m good with kids!) so yes hopefully things will work out.
Also I had my last ever hospital appointment today with regards to my previously broken ankle (another good story for another time) and it’s almost back to normal! I’m still supposed to be taking it easy though so I won’t be back in cheerleading training any time soon, but I guess I’d rather have healthy joints that don’t need surgery, even if it means sitting out of another semester.
Although there was an absolutely stunning young man sat across from me in the waiting room and I was too scared to talk to him. Bad times. I mean he was like The Kind Of Guy I’d Normally Go For crossed with Alex Pettyfer. Or maybe a better description would be: the one guy I’ve ever really been in love with, if he’d fallen out of the Gorgeous tree, hit every branch on the way down, and landed in a pool of sexy, (which, if I’m honest, that guy had definitely not. He was not exactly beating the ladies off is all I will say. Prick.) so you can see why I had a problem there. That is not the kind of guy you use to build confidence. Unfortunately. Maybe one day our paths will meet again…
Trying to decide what to make for dinner now. I think I’ll try cheesy mashed potatoes - it’s something I’ve never made before so it’s adventurous for me, right?
Hello!
I know I haven’t posted anything here in a while (well, a couple of days, but that’s like a year in tumblr time, right?)
I just want to assure you all that I haven’t forgotten about this blog or the mission, things have just been a bit hectic what with coming back to Edinburgh and starting back uni and whatnot. I did get a few chapters in on the train ride though! Exciting ones too. I’m definitely glad I decided to start this, there’s nothing like running a blog to make you stick to your guns!
Also a wee reminder to anyone doing their own challenge that your submissions are always welcome!
xxx
